Cheryl Koen strives to radiate the connection that the artist is feeling with the subject she is painting. Through her paintings she hopes to convey the spirit of being there and transcending the moment. Every painting is a personal memory for the artist created from life, travels, or photographs of her favorite subjects. With an Impressionist style her paintings are alive with saturated color. Figurative, portraits, equine and plein air landscapes are frequent favorite subjects. Moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2008, has opened up a fascinating new world of Native people, big skies, and colorful landscapes.
